I thrive on hearing people's stories. I have never met anyone who didn’t have a story that has captured my imagination. In my decades of working in health, education, and nonprofit communications, these stories—and the wisdom, humor, and achievement they reveal—have fueled my creative energy.

With the founding of Daskal Communications in 2007, I have made these stories my life’s work. I collaborate with people and organizations to distill the essence and power of their work and help them better communicate who they are and what they do.

For 25 years, I have worked in education settings, produced audiovisual materials, and led organizations’ communications initiatives. Most recently, as Co-Director of Communications at the global nonprofit, Education Development Center (EDC), I directed print, web, and media communications that conveyed the impact of EDC’s education and health programs. I also served as Director of Communications for Jobs for the Future where I directed statewide campaigns focused on education in a changing economy; and as Production Coordinator for Promotion of the PBS series, FRONTLINE at WGBH, Boston.

Before joining EDC, I founded an educational video company that produced and distributed a nationally-acclaimed wildlife video for children. Our experiment was successful: we took a radical departure from the fast pace of children's television programming, and opted instead to bring wildlife to children in a way that offered opportunities to absorb, think, and play.

Earning my Masters Degree in 1993 from the Harvard School of Education led me to focus on how and what we can learn from others and helped me focus on the science and art of telling stories. While at Harvard, I served as a research assistant for professor and author Sara Lawrence Lightfoot. I earned my B.A. in American Studies with High Honors in General Scholarship from Wesleyan University.

My background, experience, and skills have culminated in Daskal Communications, created to help tell stories that connect with the audience and leave a lasting impression.

Please take a look at my portfolio and contact me. I'm always eager to discuss ideas and to create something new.
